Golden Rule BBQ in Pelham shut down in 2015 to make way for Burger King on U.S. 31. The new restaurant located at 309 Huntley Parkway, in the Publix shopping center off Shelby County Road 52 is owned and operated by Paul Curcio. The building is 3,200 square feet and seats 85-100 people. The business brings about 20 new jobs to the city.
The menu still features traditional barbecue options, but Home-style meat and vegetable options have been added to the menu, plus fried pickles and smoked wings have been added to the appetizer list. The new location offers take home meals that feed a family of four for under $25. We make it easy for people to call in, place an order and pick it up on the way home.
Four or five employees who worked at the restaurant when it was located on U.S. 31 have come back to work at the new location. The restaurant was located on U.S. 31 for 30 years before it closed. The store was old and Burger King wanted to buy the land so the landowner sold it, but it all worked out for the good of the city and everyone involved.
Golden Rule encourages people to love their neighbors and one way you can do that is to bring your neighbors some barbecue.
